memoirs S/S 2019 RTW collection is inspired by the bittersweetness of youth, capturing both the brighter moments and the darker times, the rampaging chaos of thoughts & emotions inside today’s generation.

The collection aims to showcase the East Asian silhouette: straight, boxy, loose-fitted, and symmetrical, with layers of shirts, trousers, and overcoat. The palette is a mix of vintage earthy tones, imbued with wistfulness and nostalgia. The flashing fuchsia pink, red, and gold are inspired by the ever-changing stage lights of the music concerts & the endless nights at bars. The texture of natural fabric (part of which upcycled from vintage kimonos) - such as handwoven hemp & noil silk - is rough, coarse, or with irregular slubs, which calls to mind the carefree recklessness of youth, and the resulting mistakes & regrets.
