Midnight With Lulu
A fusion of stylised Orientalism and deco glamour of the 1920’s are combined with soft, sports luxe silhouettes in the AW16 collection from Violet & Wren, creating a modern oriental aesthetic to their British designed, Luxury Silk Loungewear.
From the graphic Night Orchid, to the opulent Oriental Bloom and sharp Greta Stripe the collections print stories take inspiration from the delicate and lyrical studies of botanical artist Hasegawa, incorporating beautiful hand painted leaves with intricate digital imagery to create a dramatic yet feminine aesthetic. Carefully developed in collaboration with the renowned London Florist Jane Packer, the prints are designed and created by co-founder Louise by a combination of handprinted and digital techniques and follow the brands bold yet feminine DNA.
In true Violet & Wren style, flashes of off beat colour inject a refreshing juxtapose to the historical reference points, and the femininity of the botanicals is set beside a clean, masculine inspired stripe in reference to the collections muse and namesake, the wonderful and controversial, Louise Brooks.
The collection’s silhouettes follow Violet and Wren’s signature relaxed, sports luxe appeal and are given a new proportion for the autumn season. Signature feminine detailing, meticulous finishing and youthful cuts are thoughtfully updated with soft architectural ruffled peplums and asymmetric, deconstructed frills while the collection continues to offer the signature pieces in the modernised pyjama duo, luxurious kimono and unique sleep accessories.
