My collection Epicene’s focal point was finding my muse. She had to be someone who mirrored my inspirations. For this collection my muse was a beautiful teenage girl who’s in the middle of chaotic, but innocent adolescence and refuses to grow up. Every adult has passed adolescence, and everyone had to grow up at certain point of his or her life. Sometimes we feel the same anxiety and confusion as we once did during our adolescence. However, it is almost impossible to maintain the same innocence and purity of child. For my collection, I wanted to revisit my adolescence, and borrow that sentimental feeling. In my own adolescence, I could find my muse: an innocent young girl who does not apprehend or posses the concept of either
femininity or masculinity. I wanted to mirror her beauty in my collection. Neutral color tones, watercolor motifs, masculine/oversized construction, and raw denims all worked together to express my muse. It was an exciting journey to bring opposites to collaborate, and make peace within chaos.
