About Me

CRES. E DIM. is Korean designer brand by Hongbum Kim since 2009. The brand name CRES. E DIM. is came from the musical term ‘crescendo e diminuendo’. ‘CRES’ means ‘getting gradually louder’ and ‘DIM’ reflectively means ‘getting gradually softer’. Kim applied this theory into his fashion identity and philosophy. Most recently, he was selected as one of the 10 fashion designer represents Seoul, Korea in 2014. Also he was chosen as one of 5 designers to represent Korea for S/S and F/W 2013 by CONCEPT KOREA organized by Korean and USA government. He comes up with new silhouettes by experimenting with different fabrics overlapping the woman body. The shape is cut into fragment to add rhythm, and the colors give vitality to the final outcome. Also he carries second label ‘DIM. E CRES.’, which is CRES. E DIM. written backwards. Being the second brand, it takes along the modern identity of CRES. E DIM. and the concept is focusing on being more casual and witty. “When I see the outcome of my new collections finished and presented to the public, it gives me a feeling of thrilled passion and only makes me strive harder.” Kim Hongbum said.
