About The Collection
From Latin mydriasis: The condition of having a dilation of the pupil.
Doreapalan’s new collection is inspired by the so-called ‘spiritual plants’ or rather those natural substances that mankind has used for immemorable time to approach the divine.
‘Mydriasis’ refers to three of those substances: Ayahuasca, Opium and Belladonna giving the spark to create the distiguishing illustrations of this Doreapalan collection.
The graphics have been realised as collages and in watercolour on paper, an artistic technique offering a colour card fading from emerald green to powdery pink put in stark contrast to black and white geometries.
The illustrations are digitally printed in Italy on fine viscose voile enhancing their design and the brilliance of their colours.
Doreapalan realise handcrafted garments making use of essential unisex cuts.
Blouses and tops where the printed fabric is combined to intarsia recalling op-art contrasts, overalls, trousers and miniskirts of rigorous black and white graphics, short and long dresses of slendering fits.
