“REDUNDANCE”
The SS16 season took inspiration from excessiveness, traces of evolution, and parts that
could be abandoned. Through evolution, body parts of some animals and human were no
longer needed and degenerated such parts as the pelvis bones of whales, eyes of the
blind fish. We took the ideas of evolution and degeneration then interpret them into
fashion, express them the opposite way, as degenerated parts are usually non functional
and smaller or less visible, in the collection, the removable pieces / abandon-able pieces
are fully functional and obvious to the eyes; those pieces add functionality to the garments,
creating more possibilities for styling, and infuse a sense of oddness to break from the
monotonous tailored looks.
All the tailored pieces from the collection are half hand made by craftsmen with half hemp
lining to reflect high quality and neatness that are in parallel with the collection to
emphasise the brand’s obsession in perfection.
