PANORAMA
‘Panorama’ describes an unbroken view of an area or a sequence of events. It is also the name of the roundabout street on a large hill that overlooks my hometown in California and has been a significant memory and landscape in my life.
This collection explores the movement and growth I have expe- rienced as a designer, while reflecting on the physical movement I’ve endured living between London and California in the past years. These places heavily influence the way I feel and create.
Using elements from my previous collection such as vintage blan- kets found in the antique stores of my hometown, I created an array of one of one pieces that make me feel comforted and true to my aesthet- ic and style. I had just come home from London while designing this collection, a place that is just as much home to me as California. The culture of London has greatly influenced the way I experiment with the colors and audience that I am designing for. The split experiences of these two places is what emphasizes the panoramic view of this collec- tion. The unbroken perspective of my life being split up geographically is what helped me turn my family and childhood memories into a mod- ern day collection meant for someone who may also not have a home in place. Someone who makes a home wherever they are, using their style and the influences around them.
